Stop stressing when you want to split a restaurant bill fairly among several people.

This Fair Bill Split application will save the day and save you a lot of time and heavy mental thinking, and it is a Free App!

Fair Bill Split allows two main modes:

1. Split Bill Evenly:
For simplicity, the entire bill can be split evenly among the people in the party, and tip or gratuity is calculated, and per-share amounts are shown.

2. Itemize Bill
Once this App knows all the bill items, tax rate, gratuity rate, the number of people, and optionally the names of the people and descriptions of the bill items, the user of this App can easily allocate each bill item to each person and come up with a final tally for each person including the pre-tax amount per person, and the recommended tip to give, per person.

If multiple people shared a dish, for example, you can split that particular dish with one or more people in the party, and the amount of that dish will be split among those people.

There are several ways to enter detailed bill items:
1. Enter each bill item manually.

2. Photograph a receipt, and use an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) or a Photo-to-Text app to translate the receipt into text. You can copy that text and paste it into the Fair Bill Split App, and the Fair Bill Split App does smart parsing and shows the Itemize screen where each item can be allocated to the different people in the party.

Optionally: You can change the default names in the Itemize Screen and customize each column with a persons name such as Mary or Kevin.

You can optionally change the names of the bill items in the Itemize Screen to a particular dish such as "calamari" or "hamburger".

There is also an itemized "So Far" feature which helps the user determine whether all the bill items have been accounted for, or if there are some bill items that need to be assigned to one or more people.

The process of assigning people to bill items uses color for easy identification, but color blind people can still use it because there is a visual clue which tells the user whether a user has been selected or deselected.

There are some known limitations:
1. In the detailed Itemization windows, a maximum of 24 people is supported.

2. In the detailed Itemization windows, a maximum of 100 bill items are supported. Anything over 100 bill items is not processed.

This App supports both iPad and the iPhone.
